Candidate Information Session Hosted by the Swim Ontario Place Group

In line with my platform to advocate to protect Ontario Place, I will be attending this information session. This event is hosted by SwimOP = Swim at Ontario Place. To check out their Facebook group click here. Note: I have not read through this group’s content so I cannot endorse or comment on it, I am just providing this link for your reference.

Their event includes some mayoral and city council candidates. The following is a summarized excerpt of information from their email invite:

  • 10:30 am - Meet & Greet

  • 11 am - Discussion of their 3 Key Issues:
    ”(1) Future of Ontario Place;
    (2) Water quality, storm water, natural water treatment, Great Lakes, and Ontario as water capital of the world (with Toronto and OP, in particular, as its epicenter);
    (3) Bridge or tunnel to Toronto Island, airport expansion or reduction, pedestrian right-of-way access from existing tunnel to Hanlan's so that we can swim there without having to "pay the ferryman", or other provisions for safe cleanwater swimming, e.g. temporary dock for Ontario Place East island swim entry outside the breakwall.”

  • 11:30 am - Barefoot pebble walk, water walk, and dip

I am attending to learn more about their 3 key issues & participate in the discussion. To check out their full event details, click here.
